At all times we carry with us a noise meter so we can make sure we stay within any volume limits imposed at a venue. We don’t mind doing this at all but wish it wasn’t necessary. However, it is now a fact of life so we must make the utmost effort to comply. Venues like us because we carry our own noise meter - makes us look like we’re on-side.

This is becoming a reall issue and can really put a dampner on a party.

Number One Question of All Time...

We take safety very seriously so we went back to school to qualify as testers of portable appliances. We use our calibrated Kewtech & Seaward testing machines as advised in the “IEE Code Of Practise For In-Service Inspection & Testing Of Electrical Equipment 3rd Edition” (2007). Except we do it more often than we’re required to. We keep annual records & put lovely green & white stickers on everything...

Number Two Question of All Time...

We have in place PL insurance to the value of five million pounds. We’re quite aware of the need for it but always work with the idea that if we’re careful and sensible we won’t ever need it. But we’ve got it anyway. We use broker Victor C Knight in North London and the policy is underwritten by The Blackfriars Group.

The 4K QSC front of house system needs its own exclusive 16 amp supply.

The monitor system needs its own exclusive 16 amp supply.

The stage colour wash lighting system needs its own exclusive 16 amp supply.

The 8K QSC front of house system needs its own exclusive 32 amp supply.

It’s important that there are no thermostatically-controlled appliances or dimmers on the ring supplying these 16 or 32 amp feeds. This includes, for instance, fridges, electric radiators, tea urns and chandelier dimmers. They cause noise in the PA system which sounds awful and can cause damage.

We’ll set up all our equipment with safety in mind, of course. It is a gig so there will be trip hazards and things to bump into if your not paying attention (or if you’re drunk or just plain stupid). We won’t let idiots on your stage to dance, try some impromptu karaoke or fiddle with your equipment or ours. In case this isn’t enough you can download a copy of our Risk Assessment on the link here. If this Risk Assessment and Safety Policy document isn’t event or venue specific enough we can tailor on to suit. We will, however, need to make a site visit  for which we will need to make a supplementary charge and we will also need to make a supplementary charge for the time it takes to prepare a tailored version of the document for you.

Really sorry but we don’t get involved in the provision of backline at all. We recommend using John Henry or FX Rentals for your every backline need. They’re very nice people, have great equipment and deliver/collect as necessary.
