We use Yamaha LS9 desks here at SL Audio. There’s an RJ45 network socket on the back and if you’re smart (or have the use of someone who is) you can network the mixer to a computer with a Cat5 cable. But you can also network the desk to a wi-fi router and then you can run around a venue or stage controlling all the functions on the LS9 with your computer. This saves the need to run a fat multicore around the venue and looks really cool too! Not to mention how useful it is to be able to EQ the monitors in position on stage. And don’t worry, you can idiot-proof the mixing desk by locking its controls while you’re away with the tablet.
